The obverse of the 2022 1 oz South African Big Five Elephant Gold Coin features an Elephant coming towards the viewer with ears spread wide and long tusks showing. The South African Coat of Arms is displayed at the bottom of the coin along with the words "South Africa" and "Big Five 2022". The reverse of the coin features two overlapping gold elephants. The center of the reverse gold coin shows: the denomination - Fifty Rand; Purity - 999.9; and weight - 1oz.
